I’ll start by clarifying that Meths is an abbreviation for Methylated Spirits (that’s denatured alcohol to Yanks), a fuel and cleaning agent. I don’t have a drug habit.

This stove is for back packing as it’s light and there is no need to carry around gas canisters etc.

The design is superb. It fits together better than Russian Dolls. The instructions are clear but it took some time to get my head round them completely. Like many of my own projects the design evolves over time and the photos you take sometimes have parts that are slightly different than the final design. Once you see the finished object in real life it’s nice and simple. Since it’s completely homemade if any piece broke I could easily replace it.

On the subject of breaking, it is very sturdy however misuse  will result in a big boom. So far I’ve been carefully and have had no problems but it is not something I would give to a child to play with! I won’t go into the safety aspect in any detail here since it’s fully covered in the guide.

I’m not sure if I want to paint it. I like the bare metal look but I’ll need to watch carefully for corrosion.
