My first race was the Loch Ness Marathon 2010 and since then I have done a few others. My fastest marathon time is 3:16:53 set at Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon 2014. I would like to break the 3 hour barrier one day but haven’t put the training in for that yet! I have run further than the marathon distance outside of organised competitions, such as doing the Three Lochs Way in a day.
Away from the road, I also enjoy a bit of fell running. There is nothing quite like running along a mountain to make yourself feel alive! Scotland has so many places to run in remote places. It doesn’t take long to leave the centre of Glasgow and find countryside. Dumgoyne and Mugdock Country Park are the two places I visit most often and have written about some of my runs in the Outdoor Journal.
