This was one of those projects you think you can do in a weekend and two months later you have finally finished. Granted, I haven’t spent that much time on it, but still! The tutorial on how to make a wooden zipper was inspired by the work of Robert Gwalchmai which is beautiful. The level of detail in Gwalchmai’s work far exceeds the simple version I made.
The handle for the zip would require a lot of sanding if made with traditional methods. My inability to use a scroll saw effectively gave me a good excuse to bring out the CNC mill for the first time this year. Hopefully now it’s back in action, I can use it for some Christmas presents!
